Volunteer Opportunities in TOGA

The Old Guard Association needs your help to fill critical roles.  We have specific needs for our 2025 Reunion 17-21 September and other needs more ongoing.  Most volunteer positions will only take a few hours a month, but will greatly help TOGA and offer you a fulfilling opportunity to contribute and stay in touch with other members.

FOR THE 2025 REUNION:

• 1 or 2 people (couples encouraged) to host the Hospitality Suite each night (or all 3 nights)
• 1 person to assist in the Quartermaster Store 1 day/night or all 3 days/nights)
• 2 people to coordinate shuttle bus boardings/unloading for our Fort Snelling Museum and National Cemetery tours
• 1 or 2 people on Wednesday AM 17 September to help set up Hospitality Suite and Quartermaster Store.
• 1 or 2 people on Saturday afternoon September 20 to help take down Hospitality Suite and Quartermaster Store
• 1 or 2 people to assist ADA/Handicapped members on tours

FOR ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES:

Content Manager

Role:  Manage TOGA themes and messaging on website, social medias, and “Pride” Newsletter.

Reports to the President.  Primary responsibility is to publish quarterly the “Pride” Newsletter.  Additional responsibilities of managing social media platforms, such as (but not limited to) FaceBook, Instagram, Messenger.

Regimental Liaison Deputy – West

Role:  Communicate and support current members and manage member database

Summary:  Report to the Regimental Liaison.  Must be able to travel to Joint Base Lewis McChord approximately every 4 to 8 weeks.  Maintain communications with and provide support to the active duty units at JBLM.  Coordinate and execute period events with active duty units (e.g. Halloween Family Event, Easter Event, July 4 Event, etc.)  Will require in-home communications in when not on-site.

Historian

Role: Specified responsibilities contained in TOGA Bylaws that are refined by staff charter.  

Summary:  Reports to the Vice-President.  Person should have many years service time with 3d Infantry and TOGA,  Will interact extensively with 3d Infantry Public Affairs Office.
