The Regiment

Command Philosophy

The 3rd Infantry Regiment is made up of a team of soldiers who are physically tough, tactically and technically proficient warriors who display confidence and competence, and selfless leaders who lead by example and aggressively and safely train their soldiers. The Old Guard Soldiers personify the Warrior Ethos, and are bound to each other by trust and confidence. Soldiers of the Regiment are prepared to conduct sensitive and complex operations in support of the National Capital Region and deploy when required to operate in a Joint and Coalition environment. Every ceremony is conducted as a major operation, and we will be unmatched in our ability to honor our fallen comrades and their families. We will honor the Army Values System and we will live by our Soldiers Creed and Warrior Ethos. As professional soldiers we will support and care for each other and our families, and develop strong family support group networks. We will foster a positive command climate where we get better every day, and professionally develop soldiers and leaders to prepare them for positions of greater responsibility.

The Global War on Terrorism has touched each of our lives and changed our Country for the foreseeable future. We have an obligation to those great warriors and their families who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our Country and what she stands for. Give a 110% each day in the accomplishment of your duties. Be proud of serving in this tremendous Regiment with its great history and honors, and be proud in serving your great country. You are part of the oldest and proudest profession in the world.
