February 2013
Fellow Old Guardsman and Family.
It's that time of the year once again to extend my personal invitation, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to you to attend TOGA's 16th Annual Reunion and Banquet at our host hotel headquarters, the Sheraton Pentagon City, at 900 So. Orme St., Arlington, VA, October 2-6. Again this year we intend to provide you with a reunion equal to or better than 2012. Our four star hotel rate is $112.00 per night plus tax, and includes the continental breakfast each morning, excluding Sunday, and free parking. We are working on having a great speaker, and entertainment as at previous reunions. We have kept the registration fee the same as last year, and are pleased to introduce a lower rate for children under age 12. Make your hotel reservations at 1-800-325-3535, and ask for "The Old Guard Association 2013" room block, but don't wait...the blocked rooms will go fast at this attractive rate.

We know you have asked for reserved seating at our gala banquet, and we have a way for members of a group to enjoy each others company, up to ten, at the same banquet table. To do that you will have to tell us about your seating request early, and you will have to register as a group. Further details and instructions are in this information packet.
Another of the requests made by members who responded to our reunion survey in 2012 was for us to stage a trip to Gettysburg Battlefield. We've got that on the schedule as an optional event, and it will include transportation, an on-the-way continental breakfast, a wonderful lunch in Gettysburg, and a beverage and snack on the return trip as we hold a Gettysburg trivia contest, with some wonderful prizes for the many winners on board the luxury coach.
Of course, we will stage all of our standby premier events, and maybe even work in a new one or two.
- Enjoy our special “Gettysburg Battlefield 150th Anniversary Tour”, with continental breakfast,
lunch, and snack for the price of $55.00 per person…
- Our “Ladies” will enjoy another fun-filled morning at the TOGA Ladies Coffee as the guys go
off to the Annual General Meeting…
- We will stand in silent reverence at the Tomb of the Unknowns as our wreath is placed, there
and at our Association's memorial plaque…
- Stand Tall, March Proud, as TOGA's finest Pass in Review for our honored guests, the Regiment,
and its leadership group...
- Lunch with the Troops is always a joyous event, as we share moments and stories with today's
young Soldiers…
- We will also schedule an area tour for you to re-acquaint yourselves with the National Capital
Region and its many wonderful venues and sites…
- The informal buffet reception in the “Galaxy Ballroom”, hosted by our Association President,
will offer a wide selection of food for our guests and the Regiment's staff…
- Enjoy the evening at our Gala Annual Banquet, featuring great food, entertainment, our guest
speaker, and where the Regiment's finest Soldiers will be recognized for their accomplishments…
- Register early and reserve your group table for up to 10, and after the Banquet the room will
rock as we dance the night away…
- These great events, and more, are yours when you join us for another wonderful reunion with
your friends of The Old Guard. Just turn the page for your ticket to the exciting Reunion 2013…
I look forward to greeting you and your family and friends in October as we gather once again to share in the brotherhood and camaraderie of being an Old Guard Soldier.
Fraternally Yours,
Dave
